10 Minutes Yoga

Recently, I found a calm place at college, where I can make my prayers. Since I'm the only Muslim there, I didn't had the courage to do so from the very beginning. May Allah forgive my stubid cowardice.

My fellow students were rather interested in what I'm doing, cause they never knew any real Muslim before. Now, they even remind me of it and search places, where I can pray, if we are in some other campus.
Muslims do pray 5 times a day and the time of prayer depends on the position of the sun. Since the sun sets earlier in winter, the interval between the prayers is very short. So my friends first had the feeling, that I was praying all the time ^^
Now, I just say: "I need my 10-minutes-Yoga" and they smile and wish me a "nice date with my God"

In fact, the prayer is something like a break. Last time I read a nice comparison. It goes like this: Life is like a soccer game. You always need a half-time recess, to calm down, take a breath, rethink your strategy. What is my aim? Where's the goal Who plays by my side?

Actually I don't call the prayer "yoga". I say that I'm going to pray, then I add that as a Muslim I have to do so and that it is actually a very peaceful moment. And that people can't ban me from praying, since they wouldn't forbid yoga, which doesn't disturb other people as well.
I added this note, because a brother just told me, that a sheik in Azhar (big respectable mosque and Islamic college in Egypt) once said, that we shouldn't name things in Islam with a different name, so we shouldn't consider the prayer for example as a sport or yoga or a break. Prayer is prayer.

It's funny how motivated I am in exam time ..
